Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

About the Course

ASTAR Training Institute is a Registered Training Organisation registered with the Australian Skills Quality Authority. ASTAR Training Institute is proud to offer the Certificate III of Early Childhood Education & Care as a 6 -12 Month flexible delivery. Options include classroom based, distance and/ or a blended program. This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of Early Childhood Education & Care settings who work within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They support the implementation of an approved learning framework, and support children’s wellbeing, learning and development. Depending on the setting, educators may work under direct supervision or autonomously. Learners will gain a nationally recognised qualification in the Certificate III of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30113).


Entry Requirements

Students are required to have a sound proficiency in English. Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN)

ASTAR Training Institute will conduct a LLN (Language, Literacy & Numeracy) Test and then determine whether the student is deemed competent.


Assessments

Direct observation, role-plays written/verbal questioning, interviews and self evaluations, case studies, projects, assignments are used to assess required knowledge and skills.


Qualification Requirements

To successfully complete this qualification, you are required to complete 15 core units 3 elective units and 120 hours of work placement.

Notes

Students must also complete HLTAID004 Provide an emergancy first aid response in an Education and Care Setting which is offered internally as part of the course.

On successful completion of the course, students will receive Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care qualification. Graduates from this course will be able to perform the duties of an Early Childhood Educator.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available for each Unit of Competency based on relevant workplace experience, nationally recognised training, or other experiences.
