About the Course

This qualification will give job seekers an opportunity to lay a pathway to a career in Hospitality. Paired with applied skills and experience on the job training this certificate offers those that may already hold a Certificate III level qulaification or those with experience in the industry the opportunity to further develop their hospitality skills.

This course is particularly suited to those working in management or supervisory positions or who aspire to acquire work within hospitality. This course has a focus on coordination of hospitality services, leading and managing people and managing a hospitality venue such as restaurants, hotels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops.

Possible job titles after applied industry experience may include:
- bar supervisor or team leader
- concierge
- duty manager
- food and beverage supervisor or team leader
- forecast analyst (accommodation services)
- front office supervisor or team leader
- housekeeping supervisor or team leader
- gaming supervisor or team leader
- reservation analyst
- shift manager


Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
Individuals may enter SIT40313 Certificate IV in Hospitality with limited or no vocational experience and without a lower level qualification.

However, it is strongly recommended that individuals undertake lower level qualifications, and/or gain industry experience prior to entering the qualification.


Qualification Requirements

To successfully complete this qualification, you are required to complete 9 core units 12 elective units. You are require to complete 240 hours – it is recommended that you are currently employed in hospitality when completing this course.
