About the Course

The HLTAID003 Provide First Aid course allows you to gain the practical skills and knowledge that is required to provide a First Aid response to a casualty.

This course allows students to gain skills in the following areas:

  • How to manage an emergency situation
  • Management of bleeding and eye injuries
  • How to treat abdominal, head and chest injuries
  • CPR and defibrillation
  • Use of Epi Pen for anaphylaxis

Once you have successfully completed this course your First Aid skills will be valid for 3 years. The CPR component however, is only valid for 12 months and will need to be updated annually in order to keep it current.


Entry Requirements

While this course does not require any formal requirements or special conditions that are associated with the enrolment process, students must be physically able to demonstrate that they can perform CPR by kneeling on the floor. This demonstration must be carried out for at least 2 minutes uninterrupted.
